Interesting idea, but at $2,050, I'll pass.

YES, because we all know how difficult it is to take apart an AR for compact storage

Well it would be nice for quick caliber change .... but pushing out the two push pins and removing the entire upper with bolt carrier and bolt in it would do the same and possibly faster to do.

An answer to a question that wasn't asked by anyone. Niiiiiiiice!

I think Ruger is betting on the availability of the replaceable barrel kit chambered in 300 AAC Blackout also offered by Ruger as a selling point.

for fucks sake.... that much just for a barrel?

build your own Ar in 5.56 UNDER $500 right now if you shop around. with most complete uppers going for Under $400 (minus the fancy stuff) this will probly go the wayside just like their standard $$$$$ rifle they sell.

if ruger wants to impress me, bust out that .308 mini-14 finally.

Isn't that just an M14 at that point? The receiver would have to be the size of the M14 / M1A rifles to chamber the .308 rounds. It's a Mini-14 because of the small 5.56 and 7.62x39 cartridges.

I think Ruger had some design changes in mind that would cut manufacturing costs.

Ruger's new Mini-14 in .300 BLK has caught my eye recently.

reduced weight but they wanted a more delayed/less violent recoil system.
