    I voted for Cruz, but could have voted for Trump, too. Cruz's calling Mitch McConnell a liar, on the Senate floor, today, swung me to view him in a more positive light than previously. But, Trump has shown some real backbone, too.

    Hell, I'll be glad if any conservative Repub. wins the Presidency.

    Cruz is who we need IMO. But he's got to get traction somehow.

    Somebody voted for Bush?

    I went with Cruz but I was wavering between Cruz and Walker with honorable mention to Fiorina. Trump would be up there but he is going to be/is being, massacred by the press. That is hard to fight even with the internet. In my office people were talking about Trump. These people pay attention to the news and they understand how the political game works but each of them only knew what the MSM was saying about Trump, they had obviously not listened or read what he said in context. If people who pay attention don't know, the low information voters must think Trump is the devil.

    I voted Cruz but would be equally happy to be able to vote for Walker or Fiorina.
    Over all I think there is a good choice of candidates with the exception of Bush, Rubio, Christy, Kasich the rest I think I could be
    comfortable with.

    Trump on guns;
    For assault weapon ban, waiting period, & background check
    I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun. With today’s Internet technology we should be able to tell within 72-hours if a potential gun owner has a record.

    Tidbits on Ted;
    For those of you who follow a more beaten path, let me just spell it out for you. Those of us who research these things see the Council on Foreign Relations as an extension of the New World Order.

    Whether you choose to swallow that pill, or not, is somewhat irrelevant. Watch the organization closely and you will see it follows a primarily leftist agenda. For instance, most recently the organization came out in support of more gun control, implying that guns in the U.S. were causing the violence in Latin America.

    What?

    This is what the CFR does. They push leftist issues. So Cruz would naturally be against them as a self-anointed defender of the Constitution.

    There is only one problem with Ted's disdain for the CFR. Ted's wife Heidi is a former member. Don't expect any big conservative media sources to cover this story. If Cruz looks like a threat, as 2016 nears, the story might surface in the mainstream liberal media.

    It lives!

    Now, back to the idea of a protest vote, before we actually vote.

    Trump talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. Just a slick business man and a liberal at heart.

    Cruz for me so far, trump is interesting but I think he's changed his mindview a few too many times. Walker and Kasich, Kasich used to have a talk show IIRC and he was an honest conservative.

    Results of the poll are interesting for a number of reasons. As of today only 33 votes have been cast. Is that really all we have participating here? Less than 40 or 50? Or maybe we have some democrats...?

    As to the two top candidates, I suspect if you voted for Walker and Cruz got the nomination he would get your vote in the general election and vice versa. So I think that is actually a good thing. Any one see it differently? Just curious.

    There are only 110 active members. I am not sure of the criteria but I am fairly positive that to be active does not require posting every day. This means you probably have the people who post often.

    As for the question, I am not sure what will happen. From discussions on this board and with other conservatives I think that if the person that they want, whether it be Cruz, Trump, Fiorina, Bush, it really doesn't matter, if they are not the nominee they will either sit our the election or they will "vote their conscience". What this means is that the next president will either be Clinton, Sanders, or O'Malley. I think some conservatives will cross, they will see the big picture, but I don't think it will be enough to carry the day. At least not with what I am seeing now.

    That is sad and very ignorant. That is exactly what got us the current three ring circus of hope and change and failure.
