Anyone here go to Gun Shows anymore?

I haven't been in at least three years. Last time, I found a bunch of bakelite Tantal Mags (including a russian one the seller didn't realize).

Last time was 5 years ago when i found 3 10 rnd mags for my .308 vepr, mostly too crowded around here, and the older i get the less i like being in a crowd

I got a couple of passes to a big Show in Nevada and I went "meh"....... I ended up not taking the trip. For one, I think most items are overpriced and a lot of the vintage parts guys think their stuff is made of gold. I used to LOVE to go to Gun Shows and I always had a couple thousand in cash in my pocket, just in case I saw something that I didn't know I needed .... But nowadays. Beef Jerky for days, good selection of gun safes, Native America Art, and way too many Fudd guns.

Had anyone else here 'fallen OUT of love' with Gun Shows?

Lately, "gun shows" are where you can buy Fudd guns, "New York legal" (i.e. ruined) rifles, overpriced ammo and deer jerky. I don't bother going anymore.

I mostly only go to look for stripped lower AR receivers, and occasionally to shop for particular new firearms that most shops don't carry. I get fair prices on the lowers, and I have been able to get pretty good prices on the firearms I've bought. That said, I haven't been to one in over a year.

We can get those (off list lowers) in CA still. The anti gun idiots are still trying to make everything illegal. But so far we still can. I have a few unbuilt right now just in case

I will go to the local one twice a year. Just because. Last time that I went, the one thing that I was interested in...The vendor never woke up to talk to me about it. When he did, he had no interest in dealing. Or even giving me a price on it. I go because if I don't support it, then we won't have it.

I go some times. Not often though. Still find deals on used 92fs mags that are good around here. There is a dealer, or one guy working with a dealer, that is so much a prick that if I knew his name and business I would post it on here. I was selling a PSL, and he told me all he could do was $400 cash. Claimed they weren't selling. This was maybe 1.5 to 2 years ago. I was so pissed I simply took it and walked away. A lot of the guys seem to be borderline criminal. Mine was nice, had even had the bayo lug added to it. VERY clean, nice example.....of a rifle no longer in production. Now, I won't even go near his table.

I've got two unbuilt AR lowers "in stock" still, but shhhhhhhh... don't tell anyone.

I go when I can find one that will have some size to it. Mostly looking for parts anymore, prices have skyrocketed in the last few years, and there's really not a whole lot that I need!
