    Regrets...

Just thought I would start a post about firearms from yalls past that have been sold or traded and you wish you never did...or maybe a purchase you put off and now that you look back it was a killer deal years ago...Mine are my svt-40 I bought for $250 back in the 90s are now selling for almost 2k on some sites but averaging between 1k and 1500. Then there was a norinko 308 drag I could have gotten for $4 or 500 if I remember right and we all know what they sell for nowadays...lol jump in and share

Years ago I had, and either traded in or sold, a Walther PPK, a Browning Hi-Power, and two Norinco AK-47's, one of which was an underfolder and NIB. Wish I still had those.

About 5 years ago I sold a Cimarron Thunderer in .45 LC to a buddy of mine to fund my competition 1911. I know its not something classic or really cool, but its a style that I have wanted since I was a kid and was able to purchase after my last deployment. I still kick myself in the ass everytime I think about it.

I have two regrets. One was a Glock 26 that I bought from an acquaintance with about 400 rounds of 9mm ammo for about $400. It was sold as a package deal and I bought it with the intention of selling the Glock, which I did. Recently I went and replaced the Glock and as I did it I was wishing I had kept the first one.

The other regret is not buying a SKS when I was stationed in Idaho Falls in the early 90s. There was a gun store down the street from my where I lived and they had a couple of crates of them on the floor with the rifles priced just above $100. Unfortunately, at the time I had no money to buy new firearms so I had to let it pass. Looking at the prices now I wish I had been able to come up with the money.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

Regrettably sold: Kel-Tec Sub-2000 Glock 19 model, an FAL, and an Argentine FN-49 Navy .308.

Regrettably did not buy: Albanian SKS for $200, PTR-91 I had on lay-away but decided to save the money instead, Mosin Nagants when they were $60 (paid well-over $100 for mine), and a CZ52 when they were cheap.

The Sears 12g, smooth bore, bolt action 3 shot, iron sight. Brand new. I could hit a gum rapper at 25yds but I couldn't drive a car.

I started buying & then selling firearms back in 1972 when I was still in HS. I prefer not to talk about "the ones that got away". It makes my stomach ache.

You can still find those used, right? And being Sears Roebuck, they're NOT collectible

Not really the ones that I sold, but the ones that I didn't buy more of when I had the money. Though one I do regret was a mint rossi 12 gauge coach gun.

Had to sell several when I was out of work
Biggest regret was if I had waited a little while when the panic kicked in I could have made three times what I got for them
Prior to that I did trade a Legend for an SP1 which at the time I came out alright but for what they go for now I'm kicking myself. Still have another though

I still see them occasionally for sale locally. Though in the past year I picked up two tins of ammo for them for 150.00 each. (scored on that one.)

The discussion of the CZ reminded me of two others. I did not by a CZ 83 when I bought my CZ 82. Price was great and now you can't find them anywhere. The other was when I was just 21. I filled out the paperwork and paid for a 4" Colt Trooper in .357. There was a 7 day waiting period and I was leave for about 10. After 3 days I cancelled the transaction and bought an 870 instead. The 870 was more useful, but I would love to have the Trooper now.

I regret not purchasing a real Colt M16A1 from a class III dealer back when it was about $450 ish. Same goes for the M11 that was $150 and full auto. Of course all these would of carried the $200 buck per weapon tax. I regret selling my Colt Woodsman and a Colt match target .22 LR pistol.

My grandfather obtained 7 Lugers while fighting in WWII and lost them all playing poker before he got back.
