    Meanwhile along the 38th parallel

    20131109_blp508.jpg

If you haven't been listening, the norks decided some days ago to mine the South near the dmz, causing injuries to several South Korean soldiers who were on patrol. This caused the South to fire up audio propaganda broadcasts via huge loudspeakers aimed appropriately.
This caused the norks to shell the speakers, wich caused the South to fire some rockets in reply.
There's sposed to be continuing talks today between the norks and South Korea on the situation.

    And today I read this;
    "2015-08-23 15:40
More than 50 North Korean submarines are apparently away from their bases for operations, a sign that the North is gearing up for combat while participating in high-level talks aimed at easing tension, an official here said Sunday."
    http://m.yna.co.kr/mob2/en/contents_...ite=0100000000

The sub deployments seem to be an indicator that poly ticks isn't working at resolving the issue.
Man, it'd be the shits if China invaded Taiwan, North invaded South Korea, Ukraine and Russia went at it, all breaking upon the world scene near the same time.
"And how we burned in the camps later thinking, what would things have been like, if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain, whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family?"

There's always a bully in the hood. They usually work at night.

    Nothing to see here.

The People's Liberation Army has sent troops to China's border with North Korea as escalating tensions on the Korean peninsula have pushed North and South to the brink of possible war.
The Hong Kong-based Oriental Daily reported Saturday that internet users have been uploading photos of what appear to be PLA armored vehicles and tanks passing through the streets of Yanji, the seat of the Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture in eastern Jilin province. The city, considered a key transport and trade hub between China and the DPRK, is less than 30 kilometers from the 1,400-kilometer border.

TOKYO — There has been at least one explosion at the Sagami General Depot, a United States Army post located in the city of Sagamihara, Japan, according to Japanese Broadcasting Corporation Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai.
Reports indicate that there is a base warehouse burning and emergency vehicles are responding.

All this splodin an stuff is not conducive to a peacefull world.

What year during the 1930's do you guys think we are at right now? We have obviously been living through a similar time, with a bad economy, lots of jobless, a socialist president, and the rise of dictators and threats to peace like Iran, China, Russia, Venuzuela. China wants to go on the move badly, as does Russia. Japan needs to ball up, start re-equiping their military as fast as possible. We need to sell them some nukes is what I would say.
    "What sick, barbaric bastards.

It's one thing to use terrorism to make a political statement, but the wanton mutilation and suffering of innocents? How does that forward your political goals? When done in the name of religion, how does that earn you brownie points with God?

Fuck religious extremism. And especially fuck the "religion of peace." "

So, lagcsocialist supports terrorism AS LONG AS ITS FOR POLITICAL ENDS....

My fathers friends son in law is from South Korea. I asked him about this today on the phone and he said this stuff happens all the time. He doesn't think it is going to go anywhere. He said its pretty common.

On another point. Did you know that the tall buildings along the main highways leading from the border are rigged so that they can be evacuated and tipped onto the roads using explosives. He told me that. They have been rigged like that for years.

In a similar light, certain guards on duty in sensitive South Korean installations have their bloused trousers full of ball bearings. They walk their beat with their hands in their pockets, holding a string that will allow all of those bearings out onto the shiny tiled floor. As you can imagine, once loosed, no one is going to travel that corridor quickly until the bearings are cleaned up. Wherever they are on their beat, if given the word they drop their payload and get ready to repel boarders.

Anyway I am all for peace and hope this is just more nork sabre rattling.

Two days ago, I heard a snippet about the "JDF" (Japanese Defense Force) and that they are so well equipped now that they CAN do more than "defend" their islands. The story said nothing about their "will" to do so however.

I'm not worried about this at all. Most of you know what I do for a living and where I am stationed, so hopefully that means something.

Until South Korea recalls their best golfers from the Ladies PGA tour, I won't believe it.

It the late 60's, the DMZ area had what some referred to as "the 2nd Korean War". Company and/or battalion-sized infantry combat, lots of casualties. There's been nothing like that there since.

He's got ONE card in his hand, and he can only play it ONCE. And then the game's over. He's not going to play that card. Unless in concert with bigger world events.

That is my suspicion as well. The dow is tanking as I type this, China already had their 1929 crash event a few weeks ago and it's still falling, every stock indicator in the world is falling as are transports and commodities. The problem is fear is the operator here, if people rode it out and stopped jumping ship (ie not selling their stock) before it actually has a torpedo hole in it the markets might correct a bit and get back to business as usual but the stampede is on to sell. But from what I've heard re China moving troops towards NK, NK moving out its subs and placing twice as much artty at the dmz, Ukraine and Russia stockpiling major units near each other...... I fear that like you said, the nwo folks have decided war was the way to jumpstart the economies of the world. Everyone will have a job, almost right to the day their side capitulates. Also, and this one seems odd as Russia is their major ally, Iran has decided to greatly ramp up oil production and export. Russia's economy has been more or less ruined by the lowest oil prices in years. What a crazy ass world.

But cheap gas sure is nice.

ps I just recalled reading China is converting thousands of cargo ships, that are conveniently idle due to the world economic downturn, into armed military vessels capable of hauling millions of troops/arms/vehicles around the world.

I wonder what China would need massive amounts of shipping capacity for troops and vehicles/arms/ammo for?

Ok so everyone watching knows that the world markets are in freefall and the panic is spreading such that brokerages are having "issues" doing trades, real or fabricated.

The oddest thing I just noted is that gold and silver spots are down contrary to my expectation, wtf is going on here?

Lol yeah, ebola for everyone! No seriously if this thing falls apart the people who died from ebola may be considered lucky.
