    Found Some .22 LR Today

Picked up 3 525 round boxes of Federal for 27.99 (5 cents a round) from Dicks today. They had a bunch in stock as well as having 40 round (instead of 50 round!) boxes of American Eagle. First .22 LR I have found that was a decent price in almost 4 years. The limit was 1 box per customer and luckily my wife and daughter were with me.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

Have you heard about the new corduroy pillows? They're making head lines!

Congrats on the Federal bulk pack find. I have yet to see it again in my area. That was my favorite go to ammo before Sandy Hook.

I've always liked Federal .22 LR. Back in the old days it was always cheap and also gave me the best accuracy in my 10/22. I have a few bricks left that I bought in the 70's and it still shoots fine.

On the other hand, I have a bunch of Remington that I wish I had never wasted my money on.

I'm amazed at the continued scarcity and ridiculous prices.... glad you found some. I too like Federal. Federal, Winchester and CCI are my picks. Stay away from Remington IMHO.

I am surprised at the dislike for Remington. I have some Remington Thunderbolt that I am finishing off that I have never had any problems with. It is a conical nosed bullet so I was concerned with using it in my semi-autos but I have never had any issues. They seem to be as accurate as anything else I use. What am I missing?

All the Remingtons I ever had and that's been ALOT over the years, some would shoot normal, next would have less report. Very inconsistent. Just my experience...

That being said, the newer Remington's are supposed to be improved, but I have not tried any in quiet some time...

I've never had any issues with Remington, either.

Thunderbolt's are referred to as Thunder-turds. Often they have 10% nofires in a box.

Yep, In a Wallies today and looking for some federal bulk and Win white box 7.62X51, The case was packed but not what I wanted.
Interestingly though, that WM still carries OO military Buck.
(ie, Matt black brass, od shell, paper sack colored box.)
There must not be much of a profit in plinking ammo, or else WM would carry it, because Cabela's and Gander both have it, at a premium.
