    The Good News about the ACA Just Keeps Coming

    Seems the Republicans did something good after all in the 2013 budget battle. They limited how HHS could fund the Co-ops to money specifically earmarked for that purpose. This prevented HHS from taking other money, which was not being monitored, to hide the failures of the Co-op plan. Now, the Co-ops are going out of business almost as fast as the President got them going because they are not financially sustainable without significant government funding.

    Fortunately for us, and unfortunately for them, at least according to the article, the way the Republicans forced the Co-ops to be funded shows how unsustainable the single payer system is. If they try to say it will be cheaper and save money the Republicans can now point to another example of a social program running out of other people's money. I am sure the Democrats and liberals will fight hard for it still, but this will help fend it off.
