Doh! I must be blind (not wearing my glasses). I didn't catch the O-7 or the BG! WTF?
I've seen Army Contractors at the PX before, but I've never seen them buying anything. Was just checking. It's been a LONG LONG TIME and so many things are different now.
Ever notice that these guys who try to pass themselves off as military, really look like social misfits? I mean, you never see a stolen valor faker who is fit, age appropriate, with the proper grooming and haircuts of a military personnel? You can spot these guys a mile away.
Unfortunately I have read stories about a couple of guys who did this sort of thing but were still on active duty. Last one was a medical guy of some kind that was caught wearing a Navy Cross, Silver Star, and a Purple Heart besides the medals and ribbons he had really been awarded. His career ended very quickly after he was discovered. It does not happen often, but it does happen.
