Exclamation Breaking - Justice Scalia Has Died

Just saw it on the tube. This really puts our freedoms in a bind now.

That asshole is going to try to get Holder in. Our spineless GOPe senators will rubber-stamp him and we will all be sold down the river.

I wouldn't stop there, I know quite a few "low information voters" in their 40s who could be aborted.

Scalia is going to be missed. He was second amendment by the book as we would have wanted.

Current news as of a few seconds ago, he was in "robust health" and they don't yet know why he stopped living. I just hope it was pure end of life and not something sinister.

well we have been shit on so much by this administration let's pray for a democratic John Roberts, i.e., someone not quite a liberal as obama thinks he is.

    We'll see........ we'll see

    http://www.theguardian.com/law/2016/...lia-dead-at-79
Not long after the news was confirmed, Conn Carroll, communications director for Mike Lee of Utah, a Republican member of the Senate judiciary committee, used Twitter to say: “What is less than zero? The chances of Obama successfully appointing a supreme court justice to replace Scalia?”
    .........
He added: “If anything this will put a full stop to all Obama judicial nominees going forward.”
    ..............
The Texas senator Ted Cruz, a leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination who clerked in the supreme court while Scalia was on the bench, said on Twitter: “Justice Scalia was an American hero. We owe it to him, [and] the nation, for the Senate to ensure that the next president names his replacement.”
    ..............
Indicating the fierce battles to come, Patrick Leahy of Vermont, the ranking Democrat on the Senate judicial committee, issued a sharply worded statement in response to such remarks.

Saying he was saddened by the death of Scalia “although I often did not agree with his legal opinions”, Leahy continued: “I hope that no one will use this sad news to suggest that the President or the Senate should not perform its constitutional duty.

    God help us!!
Local news said Scalia was on a hunting trip in Texas and wasn't feeling well when he went to bed last night. He missed breakfast and, when somebody checked on him, he was "unresponsive".
