West Virgina: Now a Constitutional Carry State

The WV bill proposing permit-less concealed carry was vetoed by the Governor, but his veto has been over-ridden. Congrats, WV! Residents and visitors 21 and older will no longer need a concealed carry license to carry a concealed handgun in the state of West Virginia beginning in June.

This WVCDL is responsible for this victory. They are an unbelievably effective organization that should serve as the model for State level pro 2nd amendment groups. Another factor is that in West VA, many Democrats support the 2nd amendment as well as Republicans. Sad to say, this is not the case in Jefferson county where I live due to the large number of liberals who have moved here from VA and MD to retire, and the large number liberal professors and students from Shepherd University. That being said, for a liberal county with a small population, thousands of concealed weapon permits have been issued.
