    Shooting the Norinco Type 97

First time using the Norinco Type 97. Overall it is a solid rifle with very good accuracy and no problems feeding the American Eagle AE223BL that i was feeding it. The bullets are 55 grain and have a muzzle velocity of 3240 FPS. I did a few rapid firings into various things. then before leaving actually tried an aimed long shot which hit what i was aiming at. I was firing at a rock that is 183 yards from the open jeep door in the picture. The rock is seen in the green circle. That rock is roughly the size of a coyote's body. I fired two shots. First one hit a few inches in front of the rock and the second scored a good hit with visible airborne dust. I had to compensate because the rifle was shooting about 6 inches low at that distance.

    Here are some pictures

    If anyone hasn't seen it.

I made the two aimed shots while resting on the top of the open jeep door. Distance is 183 yards.

In the circle is the mark left on the rock. It was a lot less of a mark then i thought it would be.

and lastly the rapid fire video. Video looks best if full screen. I played around for the first time with the youtube editor so be patient.

Well sounds good. Kind of reminds me of the French Famas rifle. No doubt about it the bullpup design offers some advantages in handling and barrel length. I don't own one but I have been tempted to get something like the Tavor.

trigger was ok as well. I have fired worse. It has a tiny bit of mush but not hard to get used to.

I was trying to make believe it didn't exist and concentrate on the rifle.

You killed a stuffed cow? How could you? I've got to report you to the SPCSA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Stuffed Animals). I'm pretty sure Canada is a member nation of that international organization.
You cad! Next thing you know, you'll be shooting at dolls and figurines. Dammit.

Cool rifle and video....thanks for posting.

Cool rifle. I hope you enjoy it.

I wish people in both countries had access to an unfettered free market, although I'm not sure that is something I would buy even if it were available here.
