I took my 94 apart and now i don't think i can get it back together.

It was never apart for a good cleaning and i discovered there were deposits of white crud all through it. Must be something from the powder or priming building up. So i took it apart and gave all the parts a good cleaning. I used the Remington aerosol action cleaner, some 0000 Steel wool and i completely degreased and cleaned all the crud off. I am going to give everything a liberal coating of Remoil before re assembly.

Here is how it sits now on my workbench. After the the movie is over that my wife wants to watch i am going to get back to assembling this.

It is a post 64 that has had the wood refinished while still on the gun... By a previous owner. I will be rectifying this later in the summer. I was actually thinking of getting a black synthetic stock. I like the feel of them. The rifle is a shooter not a looker. Bore is perfect. Finish is bleh.

I have never even thought about disassembling my 94, you are a brave man! Tell us how it goes putting it back together and maybe I will think about doing it to mine.

Have you heard about the new corduroy pillows? They're making head lines!

Could have been grease. The previous owner was not the best in that sort of thing. Its all off now. Gun is put back together and I completely soaked it with aerosol Remoil. Just dripping. I even cleaned out the magazine tube and oiled in there. I will just keep wiping off the excess as it works its way out. That way i wont have missed anything. Might take it out this week and fire 5 or 6 shots. Just to blow the dust off (me)

alismith that first video got me on the right track. After i got the follower in and started the lever back in it all fell into place. Thank you.

rci's predicament has me wondering about my Marlin 1894 levergun and if it would be as much a headache.

nice. I have a '94 in .44mag. Some of the internals look like they were chewed by a beaver. I might have to tear it down and clean it up
