Post Police Departments ditching the .40 S&W

I know I read a post about the FBI going back to the 9x19 and how police departments would probably follow their lead but can't find the thread. Any way I noticed that Bud's Guns has Police Trade-ins from various departments that are all .40 S&W. They have "unissued" Detroit PD marked S&W M&P.40 pistols, used Detroit marked M&P .40, and the same M&P .40 models from Atlanta PD and West Palm Beach PD. I guess they are already shifting back to the 9x19. Bud's also has other PD trade-ins in different makes and calibers. These are just the ones they mention that are PD marked. The "Unissued" Detroit pistols are $399 with three mags and the used Detroit are $319 with three mags. Not bad prices for a pistol and if you collect PD marked guns that might make for an ever sweeter deal.

I think Gunreference had an article a couple a months ago about how the .40
calibre is starting to disappear. I think it was basically saying that it is an
    unneeded cal.

I don't remember the article but when I bought my G26 about a year ago I had a hard time because of the FBI switch back to 9mm. I remember posting about the change and there was a little discussion about it. I will see if I can find the thread.
