Bass Pro will probably keep Cabela's separated from Bass Pro in order to capitalize on Cabela's reputation in the retail gun industry.

Also, combining the two businesses may make them MORE competitive.

Experts add that if Bass Pro does acquire Cabela’s, the company will have a firm grip on the outdoor retail industry and perhaps give greater competition to online giants such as Amazon.

Not good! Bass Pro is way to expensive at least for me. Cabela's has a lot better selection and prices.

Bass pro in Canada has better ammo selection then cabelas. Cabelas has some sort of moral reason for not stocking expanding pistol ammo. Can't figure out why

I'm sure its to appease some politicians or special interest group.

Somehow its inhumane to maim a dear with shitty ammo but with a human its the exact opposite....

Probably your store manager is a left wing anti-gun pecker-head.

I occasionally shop at Cabella's. Not my first choice shop. They have an AMAZING store in michigan though. Grandpa took me up there. Spent an hour and every quarter in his pocket on the shooting gallery. Bass pro? I'm not serious enough of a fisherman to spend much time or money there. I goot hooks, sinkers, bobbers, and a cheap pole from walmart. Ain't failed to reel in a catfish with it yet.

Tried getting on Cabela's website a few minutes ago, no joy. Got a "DNS address cannot be found" message. Interesting.

7.3 cents a round, no that's not bad. What brand was it?

This. Their prices suck & in my area they refuse to carry any sort of EBR or surplus rifles. I've done biz with Cabela's for years & even have one of their credit cards.
