Thumbs up I'm really interested in some of these beauties

There are coming up at a local estate auction and I'd love to have a chance at bringing some of them home.

Really like the looks of this SKS.

    BM59 & a 1941 Johnson

    Another BM59.

I don't see many Sterlings in my neck of the woods.

The AUG is nice but the early AR is what caught my eye, SP-1?

A red 9 broomhandle and Luger, what's not to like?

    1903A4, real?

Same with this one. M1C or M1D? Don't know but if it's real I'd love to have it.

Any opinions on value, issues, mag and or accessory availability, etc, would be appreciated.

That is a nice looking .22 in the middle of the top pic. looks as I could be a Marlin. But I am not sure.

The A4 is real if the serial number and name are not covered up by the scope mount. From the long shot shown here it is impossible for me to tell. Should have a Remington barrel on it and the receiver should be Remington if it's real.

I have to say the guy that set up that collection had taste. It is a virtual museum of military arms development. If I had deep pockets and all of them were real I'd get the: the Johnson, the Crag Jorgenson carbine, the A4, the A3, The M1D or C, not sure of which it is. Oh and the folder carbine which if original should be an Inland marked receiver. If it is not Inland it is an add on, DIY mimmic. Lastly I'd get that Armalite and the SP-1 Colt. Yes it looks like it is the sP-1 to me. Flat side receiver, no fense and no forward assist. It is a very early one, assuming it is a smei. Wouldn't it be da shit if it was NFA on a form 4 and transferrable!

There is a lot to bid on in that group. Nice auction. I'd have trouble deciding what to bid on...

oddly, if the WIn' 87 is in good shape and the proper model it could fetch more than all the rest.

I'm drawn to the Broomhandle and the Lugers. When and where is the auction?

I will be in town (DC) I just wish it was not on Saturday as I keep the Sabbath (so I don't buy or sell on that day). Oh well, I will have to keep looking. Someday I will find a Broomhandle and a Luger, but those looked really nice.

I'm pretty sure there is a special exemption for this type of purchase. As nice as that Broomhandle looks I think the all mighty would understand.

I haven't posted photos of everything I'm interested in and no where near everything that will be auctioned but I did get some more details. The BM59 in the third photo is listed as Springfield Armory BM59 so I presume it was actually built on a parts kit with an SA receiver.

Some interesting pieces I haven't posted photos of:

Rock Island 1903 (I presume they mean 03A3) in experimental .276 caliber.

    H&K 91 "unfired".

    Ruger Deerfield carbine, NIB.

Springfield Mod. 1922 MKII original condition.

    Beretta Cougar 8045 F, NIB.

Colt Model 2000 All American, NIB

    Browning Hi-Power 150th Anniversary, NIB.

    Ruger Vaquero, 45C/45ACP, NIB.

    S&W PC Model 952-2, NIB.

    Union Switch & Signal M1911A1.

    S&W M18-4 Combat Masterpiece, NIB.

Colt Government Model "Tiger, .38 Super, NIB.

    Colt GM Delta Elite.

A cased Belgian made Browning Medalist.

    Colt Diamondback, .22lr., NIB.

Ruger P89, NIB with two barrels, .30 Luger and 9x19. (This is an odd one).

Enfield No4, MKII, New in mummy wrap.

Also found out the 1903A4 is listed as an A3 so it's likely a cloned A4.

Not sure I can afford anything except maybe the SKS but I'll go if for no other reason then the opportunity to handle some firearms I've never had my hands on before as well as see what things sell for.

The A4's are not marked A4. I had one it was marked as an A3 but as I mentioned before the SR # and the Maker name is offset to not be covered up by the scope base. Also they were all Remington Receivers if I recall correctly. Try as I might I can't find the images of my A4 before I sold it. I guess they were on the old Gunsnet server. If it is a real A4 and it is less than 3K it is low in cost.

That's right. I knew about it being offset so the scope wouldn't block the model number but forgot that they didn't actually have A4 stamped on them. I'll check it out. They have the Garand sniper listed as just a Springfield Armory sniper so no idea if it's real or not or a C or D?

I recall reading about the Colt All American 2000 when it first came out but don't recall what the problem with it was? Wasn't that about the time Colt tried the Double Eagle? That one flopped as well though I don't recall what the issue with that one was either other than no one wanted a DA Colt. As far as the DE goes I'd like to find one in 10mm.

I recall they sucked as a bottom line. Didn't handle well, point well, function well, or shoot accurately. No reason to own either gun unless you just are collecting Colt handguns for the sake of collecting them.

    There are two things that make guns bad;

A bad design and bad quality.

The all american 2000 had both. Originally it was a much more compact design (by Reed Knight) but colt's lawyer's got involved and fucked it 8 ways from sunday. The trigger pull was abysmal, close to 20 pounds and well over an inch of straight backwards travel. Accuracy and reliability were bad and they cut just about every corner they could in build quality. It was so bad it almost bankrupted colt (and it rightly should have).

I had one briefly and didn't think it held or pointed too bad, accuracy and reliability were acceptable, but the trigger was so bad after a day at the range the tendons in both arms hurt. The trigger pull is just something you have to experience first hand, IF it was half as long, and the pull weight was 1/3 as much it would have been an acceptable sub-machine gun trigger, but has no business whatsoever on a pistol. It was also obvious it would fail after very little actual use, so many of the internals were absolute garbage.
