Pictures of My New Beretta M84BB

Here is my new Beretta Model 84BB. I got one with wood grips, which I was hoping for. There were also some with plastic but I really liked the wood better. Anyway, here is what she looks like.

My camera flipped the picture on their sides. I thought I had fixed it but apparently not. Here is the other side.

At the FFL where I picked it up and did the transfer there was a used Model 84F. I know there are some upgrades between the BB and the F but the price was twice what I paid for this including the shipping and transfer costs. I am pretty happy. Now to get it to the range and try it out.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

Have you heard about the new corduroy pillows? They're making head lines!

As a Beretta lover, nice pistol and yes the wood option looks so much better.

Regardless as to my like of the Italian breed, NICE!

Pretty gun! Wish I could afford one myself now.

I do think a range review and Beretta 84 vs CZ-82 discussion is in order.

I will start the comparison now. They are almost identical in size, though I think the Beretta is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I think this has to do with one being made in a communist country (more utilitarian in looks) and the other being made in a freer country (beauty expresses itself in freedom). The weights are about equal as well.

Capacity of the CZ 82 is 12 + 1 in the pipe where the Beretta is 13 + 1 in the pipe.

I looked up ballistics of .380 ACP as compared to 9mm Mak last night. The .380 is not quite as powerful (this is of course a relative statement as neither are really "powerful" when compared to 9mm (9x19)) as the 9mm Mak. The articles and read last night had the .380 about 100 FPS slower than the 9mm Mak.

I will start a new thread after taking it to the range but that is the comparison so far.

Your post reminds me that consideration should be taken to the fact that the CZ-82 is the military version, while the CZ-83 is the commercial version. I'm betting the commercial version, especially a new manufacture pistol, will have better finish than the military version. Actually, I'd bet a commercial 83 with blued finish and wood grips would look pretty good.

Additionally, it should be noted that 13 rounds of .380 will fit in the CZ-82/83 magazine, because it is slightly less fat than the 9x18.

I don't mind doing that. Which model 84 do you have?

Mine only says Mod. 84 on the slide. No "F" Aluminum frame.

Here are pics of my slide.

I think yours is an early production base model since it only says Model 84. Mine says Model 84BB on the left had side of the frame under the slide.

I did look up the date of manufacture based on the date stamp (found on the forward part of the right side of the trigger guard, yours is AE) your pistol was manufactured in 1979, about 8 years earlier than mine.

I just cleaned my Beretta for the first time. Talk about easy to field strip. Push a pin and turn a lever and the slide comes off the front of the pistol. Took me less than a minute to take it apart and took less than a minute to put it back together again when I was all done. Now to shoot it!

I always liked all the proof marks on italian firearms. They always catch my attention. Looks like a nice gun. I hope it shoots well.

Remember THIS if you're EVER in a position where a Beretta is pointed at you.
    a) Gun won't fire without its mag in place.
a-2) Gun is designed with a spring assist the eject the mag.
    b) Gun won't fire without the slide in place.

    1) Quickly grab the slide pushing it back as far as you can, this will keep the hammer from falling.
    2) With your finger eject mag.
    3) With one of your other fingers push in the disassembly button.
    4) With your thumb push down the disassembly lever.
    5) PULL off slide.

The stupid look on the perps face will give you enough time to either bash in his face with the slide or run.

My Uncle (cop) showed me this. He started with (empty gun) Shoot me if I move.
He was on me so fast the gun was disabled before I knew what happened... He wasn't "just a cop".

Here is a video Hickok45 recently did on the Browning version:

I had one of those. It was stolen and then I bought the Beretta.
That is why I have a BDA upper that I have fitted to the Beretta frame. I just need some mill work to have the decocker work on the Beretta frame.
    I have the parts.
