Post A little perspective on mass shootings

Was thinking about the different comments politicians and others are making about gun violence, gun bans, etc., and decided to do some research. I looked at all the mass shootings in the U.S., three or more killed per incident) that specifically entailed the use of an AR-15 or AK "assault weapon" back to 1984. A few didn't use an AR or AK like Huberty in San Ysidro who used an UZI carbine and Columbine where they used a Tec-9 and a Hi-Point carbine so I left them out, just AK and or AR rifles. The total number of dead was 83. That's over 34 year period.

According to the MADD website there are 27 Americans killed daily due to drunk drivers. If you add that up you come up with 315,360 people dead for the same 34 year period.

This is proof they don't care about suffering and death, they care about the total control they will have if they can just get the guns from American hands.

Some more perspective, at least from my point of view. A mass shooting is a criminal act. This was an attack by an armed enemy who happened to use a gun. While he would be tried in criminal court (for reasons I am finding harder and harder to understand) this was an act of war by a cowardly army who cannot stand up to an armed and trained opponent so they seek out those who cannot fight for themselves. A criminal act can be somewhat controlled through laws. An act of war can only be controlled by defeating your enemy.

I will take a great leap here....

So we killed what, 200,000 Japanese JUSTIFIABLY with two atom bombs? Many civilians? Did ALL of them support the war and hate America? No. Did many? YES. Was it justified to make a point and end the war? Yes. Did it save lives and cause them to stop fighting? Yes.

So.....How is it any different with the muslims and the middle east? We have bombs today that release very little fallout. Why not? Screw them. If the 'innocent muslims', you know, the same ones who will not turn in these evil fucks over here, don't agree with them they need to start contributing more than gun blaming and victimhood to the discussion. Otherwise I say we microwave a shit ton of them. I am done with the whole 'innocent' 'western leaning' muslim thing. Really? In Falujah I understand a father not talking to the American army for fear of retaliation. Here, there is no excuse not to tell the local PD when someone is about to attack other than you deep down agree with the attacker. So FUCK them.

Where first? Mosul? Baghdad? Kabul? Drop one, warn them, and then drop another IMMEDIATELY after the next attack. Maybe it would lead to a broad conflict, maybe even a nuclear war. But given the fact I simply no longer see any way of ending this with a vctory, and if we are to be defeated, fuck them. The Solomon complex if you will.
    "What sick, barbaric bastards.

It's one thing to use terrorism to make a political statement, but the wanton mutilation and suffering of innocents? How does that forward your political goals? When done in the name of religion, how does that earn you brownie points with God?

Fuck religious extremism. And especially fuck the "religion of peace." "

So, lagcsocialist supports terrorism AS LONG AS ITS FOR POLITICAL ENDS....

I have to stay away from "social" media sites. Found one of my best friends asking people to go to that White House dot gov page to sign a petition banning AR-15s from public ownership.

Once again, the murdering scum in Florida does not represent all Muslims, but for some reason he does represent all honest gun owners????

And in the very good perspective started by Richard, the guy who shot Reagan and Brady and the secret service officer used a .22 handgun if I remember correctly. Son of Sam mass murderer used a .44 Bulldog (revolver). Charles Whitman climbed a book tower with bolt action rifles, a shotty and a handgun.

Again, blame the instrument and not the person.

The media doesn't care about how many people are killed. Leftist politicians don't care about how many people are killed.

Is banning any type of firearm going to stop the killing? Do the media and leftists care about stopping the killing?

    NO!

What the leftists and media want to do is get the guns away from citizens who own them. Does the media care about which type of gun they ban? Do leftist politicians care about which type of gun they ban?

    NO!

What does the media want to do? What do leftist politicians want to do?

They want to ban ALL guns!

They will use any argument; they will use any event; they will use lies; they will use adults; they will use children; they will use anyone, anything, any time to achieve their goal.

They want nothing less than total elimination of all guns an American citizens' hands.

This is what they want. And, if we don't stop them, this is what they will get.

It's time to stop giving in. it's time to stop listening to their insanity.

It's time to stand up and say, NO!. And be able to back it up with action when necessary.

    Otherwise, we lose everything.

    Whitman's weapons list:
Sears Model 60 12 gauge shotgun
Remington Model 700 Bolt action Rifle with scope – 6mm Rem
    Inland M1 Carbine - .30 Carbine
    P08 Luger - 9mm
    Galesi-Brescia .25 Auto (Pocket Pistol)
    S&W Model 19 - .357 Magnum

Three of his victims were killed by the Sawed off Semi auto shotgun. The rest were shots from the tower using the Remington M700 chambered in 6mm Rem. He had amazing marksmanship skills (and was a complete psychopath).

If my memory is accuarte or the source was accuate I'm remembering he had a brain tumor that was found during the autopsy.

Yep, he apparently had a brain tumor, and he kept a journal of his descent into madness, detailing what he was planning to do. He knew something was wrong but didn't seek or get help.

He did see a doctor. The doctor told him nothing was wrong. He wrote in his journal something like "the one chance to stop me has passed."

That's not an exact quote, just a paraphrase.

It isn't about saving lives. Your analysis proves that Richard. If you look at the murder rate in Australia before and after they enacted the ban on semi automatic rifles, there was no statistically significant reduction in the murder rate. In my opinion, the reason for that is substitution. If you truly want to kill someone you will do it regardless of the weapon you have available.

What it is about is raising fear and manipulating that fear to "their" own advantage to make the population more "manageable".

Somebody said this years ago and, unfortunately, I don't remember who it was. It is still true today however and bears repeating.
    The dead don't fight back.

Including the latest shooting, there have been 671 deaths recorder by Mother Jones related to mass shootings between 1982 and 2016
That is 19.74 deaths per year / 12 = 1.645 deaths per month.

Now, according to CDC there were (last time I looked) 75,000 deaths in 2011 for example related to HAI. That is 6,250 deaths of innocent victims (per month)...(208 per day) who were subject to Hospital Acquired Infections unrelated to the reason the visited the hospital. 208 people Innocent people died today, will die tomorrow, and on and on...and not a word.

Why is the news not all over that?
And let's not mention those who died from taking properly prescribed and properly administered pharmaceutical drugs....

The Libs and Dimocrats don't care about people dying. What they care about is disarming American citizens. Only deaths by firearms are counted because they can use those deaths to further their goals. All other deaths are useless to them.

Well, most of us know Cain killed Able with a rock. We have a heart problem, not a gun problem.
