After today, it's all historical.
Full circle; 9 mm to 10 mm to 40 S&W then back to 9 mm. Glad I never invested in 40 S&W.
Not surprised, this will hopefully mean a market surplus of slightly used .40 cal pistols for those that like the caliber. I bought a .40 cal Taurus beretta clone over a decade ago, have not bought a pistol or ammo in that caliber since.
Initial Success or Total Failure
I have been seeing .40 cal police turn-ins at AIM and J&G for the past year or so, when this was first announced. Have never been interested in the .40 but I have let some of my friends know who are looking for a good deal on a pistol.

Maybe they are just such poor shots they switched back to the 9mm so they had more shots available per gun. The ammo is also less expensive.

It's the smartest thing to do in my opinion. Glad they are switching back.
