I'm hearing the Dallas shooter ised an SKS?

I have seen two blurbs on fb that say this. They said last night it was an AR type. Odd that a former military guy would choose such a rifle. If it is true, that is.

The video I've seen shows an AR15 in his hands, not an SKS.

Damn. You're right. Something on fb was misleading. Imagine that.

According to CBS, it was a tricked out SKS. Perhaps a mall ninja 'souped up' SKS but an SKS nonetheless....

Wow, so now the SKS becomes a "semi-automatic assault rifle" per the CBS article. Well I guess the one he used was since he did use it to assault people.

I still don't trust CBS News to report anything correctly.

I don't know, the curvature of the magazine sure looks like 7.62x39 over the 5.45x39.

    Cheap scope on the AK.

It might not have been an SKS, but you could easily pull off something like this with one. My Yugo 59/66 is very accurate.
When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail." ----- Jack Burton 1986

As I stated in the other thread I thought it looked like an AK. Just something about the way people tend to hold an AK is different than an AR.
