Sometimes they don't have a choice. I'm sure the Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto didn't WANT to surrender their weapons to the SS. Armed groups kicking down doors has a way of convincing folks.
They had a choice. They knew what was happening. Better to kill an SS or two before they were killed themselves than to calmly walk to the gas chamber and give their life away for free.
The Jews foolishly believed (and still believe) that they can negotiate their way out of trouble. After surrendering to the SS without a fight, thinking it would save them, what was their next option when they discovered that it wouldn't work?

Even the WW-II Germans shook their heads in disbelief... wondering how they could calmly walk to their deaths and not even try to save themselves (or at least die on their feet). The truth that nobody wants to speak is that Jews are cowards. They don't like violence, they don't like weapons and they don't like conflict.
They think that makes them more civilized than others, but all animals (including humans) are by nature violent and competitive. The weak never survive evolution.

The Venezuelan government is having a lot of problems these days. I think that the government is genuinely worried about massive civil unrest soon, and is rounding up the weapons now before it's too late.
And, given a chance, the Dimocrats will ruin our country and be worried about the same thing happening here.
