rose hips are good to eat

I have been eating them for years. If you haven't tried them and have roses growing on your property give it a try. Just make sure all the hairs are off the outside and the seeds are all removed. When they are ripe they are delicious.

I'll try them. Nice knife btw. Opinels are interesting knives. They are made in France and, strangely, they even look French.

Just make sure you get the seeds out. They bother some peoples insides. Doesn't do anything to me though. I eat them with the seeds and thorny hairs on them sometimes right off the bush.

i switch between this Opinel and a portuguese ICEL brand folder. The ICEL is stainless but takes AND holds a very keen edge. $15... The opinel is Carbon steel and was about the same price... I bought both from Spartan Marine (Commercial fisheries store) I prefer cheap knives as to breaking or losing expensive ones. So far these two are above expectation.

I had the shits for three days when I tried that.

I can eat them cleaned but otherwise it's not a pretty thing.
