    Question Gun boxes

Organizing my new "hobby room" in the new house. Realized I have too many rifle/shotgun boxes. I have been keeping them for a while now. Do you? Pistol cases are no problem ,but rifle boxes take up a lot of room. Been keeping them thinking they add to resale value...

I have several lying around and the depressing part is the cases never came with any firearms in there. I picked them up here and there because people were just throwing them away. Now I can't seem to get rid of them.

Like an idiot, I keep them. Not sure why. I doubt I'll live long enough for them to be worth anything even if they have the original box they came in.

I, probably, should start throwing them away.

I've been tossing them lately. If the rifle doesn't seem like it'll have future collectability, the box is gone. Especially the boxes my century rifles came in. I cut off the identifying tags and toss'em.

    I hope that's not a fire hazard.

I have saved some from some of the "better" guns. Most have gone out in the trash. Like Sheutz. I kept that one, an AR box, and a few others but those few others went up in the attic.

I only keep the hard cases that the rifle was shipped in.

I do still have my Gamo Big Cat box.
