DNS to be given to ICANN tomorrow

Four attorney generals from Texas, Arizona, Nevada, and Oklahoma had filed for an injunction to prevent the handover. A judge in Texas for the southern district denied their request.

Obama is doing his utmost best to bring our freedoms to an end before he leaves office.

This is just more of his promise to fundamentally change America.

I wish I had a time machine to be able to go back to just after the constitution was adopted and ask the leaders back then what they would do in our case?

Why should they stop it? Now they can stifle free speech, remain in office forever. How would we spread the word when they pull shit.......

“Trusting authoritarian regimes to ensure the continued freedom of the internet is lunacy,” Paxton said. “The president does not have the authority to simply give away America’s pioneering role in ensuring that the internet remains a place where free expression can flourish.”

Backers of the move said it was essential to preserve the independence of the internet amid growing pressure to remove the US’s dominance over the Domain Name System (DNS), a crucial component of how the web operates.
US dominance??? The Internet is OURS.

It started out as the ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) designed to be a robust, distributed node computing network that (during the "cold war") could survive the loss of nodes and keep working.

It linked together businesses (companies or .COM), schools and universities (.EDU) and government (.GOV).

In the event of war or other problems, the Arpanet would enable the US to coordinate technical skills (universities), manufacturing (companies) and military needs.

When the cold war ended, the network was turned over to the unwashed masses and became the "Internet" which is now clogged with trash, refuse and garbage by the terabyte.

Regardless, it's an AMERICAN invention, AMERICAN tax dollars paid for it, AMERICAN engineers designed it and it's 100% OURS.

The rest of the world should bend over and kiss our asses for us ALLOWING them to use OUR network.

"Remove US dominance"... are you freakin kidding me???

You know what they would do. Sadly, today's Americans don't have the guts to do it.
