    mrkalashnikov paid me a visit

As we all know it seems the hardest part to enjoying our sport is finding the time
Well yesterday everything came together for a great day of shooting
mrkalashnikov made the trip down to my place and brought a few of his toys
I have to admit with all I've had going on I wasn't sure I would be much of a host but he came well prepared
He also lived up to his handle
Here's a couple of shots of what we got to play with

Hopefully he'll chime in here and tell you what all he brought.
He told me but I guess I should have wrote it down

We rigged up an impromptu bench and stared getting serious

We did have to make some adjustments when the neighbor starting tilling

Matt was real good at showing my daughter here how to use his rifles and pistols and even got me in there for a few rounds.

Here he is setting off some Tannerite
I happened to have some around
I just love to hear it echo through the neighborhood

Matt had to leave mid afternoon to beat traffic, can't blame him for that but I think we managed to rearrange the set up enough

My daughter has really taken a shine to the AK now

Our tenant showed up to till but we kept going as long as we could

We pulled up the targets and kind of lost track of who shot what so we all took credit for the bullseye and figured we all just kept hitting the same hole

Went out this morning with a rake and found a few casing we missed last evening

All in all a great day and a chance to leave the cares behind and have some fun
Thanks Matt for supplying that and making the effort.
Hopefully we can make that happen again

    Cool

GREAT pics Otto, you truly are an artist. Thanks again for the Hoosier hospitality, I hope we can do it again in the near future.

Your daughter & SIL are great young people, they give me hope for the future of our country.

Note to Self: lose some weight you fat f#ck, you look bad sitting next to a lanky Clint Eastwood-looking dude like Otto.

As you said, sometimes timing just doesn't work. Hopefully in the spring it will and this AK-nut will be able to join you.

As far as my shooting irons: 2001 SAR-1 Romy & a newer Molot VEPR in 7.62x54R with 23" heavy barrel. The VEPR is set up with a Nikon x8 scope for long-range shooting. I also brought my M70AB Zastava underfolder & Russian SAIGA/Arsenal AK-74 but we didn't get around to shooting those two. I likewise brought my M57 Yugo Tokarev pistol which was a crowd-pleaser with it's high velocity 7.62x25 round.

I'll let Mr Bill fill you in on his hardware, although among other toys he had an old Colt AR-15 Sporter & Chinese Porchine (sp?) AK which I hope he leaves to me in his will.

Nice pictures - looks like a good time. I love the cable spool re-purposed for use as a rifle rack and table.

Looks like a good day! I too like the shooting table you made. Looks easy to make, inexpensive, and easy (relatively) to move.

Makes me think it has been too long since I was out shooting. Maybe this weekend. Good to see folks shooting the fun stuff.

Oh yeah, just tip it over, roll it inside, throw a tablecloth on it and it's ready for a pot of your favorite chilli

Miles and time... That's what seems to be the hard part for enjoying range time for me.

I have to drive a long way to shoot. Public ranges are far & few and usually crowded.

It's very cool to see these photo's for those of us who aren't able to be doing it ourselves.

    Love the "spool bench/table".

    Thanks for sharing...

    Looks like fun.

You may want to explain to your daughter the evils of vertical video, though.
