Did I mount the bipod too far back?

My stock tapers inside and I found a sweet spot for the swivel stud to bite into and hold without busting through . There is a metal tray in the Mini and I avoided hitting that, but is the bi pod too far back? I was reading on some forums and some people say the bi pod acts like a hinge and the the further forward it is will be the best . Whats your guys thoughts?

I think it will be ok. Any further back and it would limit your range of motion when in the prone.

Looks ok to me but if it turns out you want it further forward could you just flip it around?

While you can just turn it around it is not the proper way to mount it. It would increase
    deflection on the stock.

Probably just fine. If you shoot it, like it and can hit what you're aiming at, it works.

I've always had my Harris Bipods on backwards because I never liked the look of them folded up all sticking out forward, especially when so many military built-in types fold back against the stock.

The reason for mounting the Harris-style fold-up bipods with the legs sticking forward is, when the bipod is deployed, to allow the shooter to lean forward into the rifle and put tension on the legs for a wobble-free platform.

and most (not all) built in bipods that fold backward have positive locks on them to do the same thing.
