The DOD, in all it's brilliant mental acuity, decided to SAVE money and used powder designed for the M14's 7.62 round for the M16's 5.56mm round.... and not tell anyone. They didn't realize that the formulations were different and that the 7.62 round could fire with a 'dirtier' residue than the 5.56mm. So millions of 5.56mm rounds were loaded using 7.62 propellant. That in addition to a weird urban legend that you 'didn't have to clean the M16, that it was 'self cleaning'" didn't help either. The fact that thousands of XM16E1s were delivered with NO cleaning kits into Nam appeared to back up this myth.

amen. i can't wait for this fad to fade. i've only got about 20 or so more years. so i may fade first.
Only a very FEW edgy looking women look kinda cool with tats. but I HATE the vast majority of them. All I see are beautiful young women ruining their skin with (albeit pretty good artwork) tats that will sag, blur and fade into crap as they age.
