Could be a VEPR conversion. But it looks like a Dragunov TIGER CARBINE.

Correct, this is the Russian version of a politically correct SVD. Since the soviet citizens were not allowed military weapons, the TIGR was built as a hunting rifle for those who wanted an SVD but not allowed to own one. This one has the SVD stock installed on an otherwise all numbers match rifle. This is one of those that even out of my cold dead hands you would have a hard time prying me away from it.

You will puke If I tell you how cheap I could of purchased Tiger Carbines for in 1997. $350 bucks as a dealer. There was a wholesale house blowing them out on special. Can't remember which company it was, but it was super cheap. Another thing I'm kicking myself in the ass mentally for not purchasing along with the $20 buck 75 round Chinese drums.

It is amazing how prices were on many of our toys at one time. I do remember Chinese drums gathering dust on shelves along with MAK-90s. Government stomping on the constitution is what caused these prices that are nearing interstellar.

The VEPRs in 54r have become fairly available again. What is involved in making it look like that gun of Nut's? Simple furniture or more to it?

Any thoughts from the brain trust on how to deal with this gap? Yugo top hand guard with T-1 mounting hole pattern was not in stock so I got the 47/74 part. Its really not horrible in person and I may leave it as is.
