Savage throws their hat in the ring,MSR series of AR-15

Can't find verification in their very poor website, but it appears to have a side charging handle as well as the standard AR-15 style. Looks like several calibers will be available in one more AR version in a time of flooded market.

The market is replete with AR-15 style firearms. The only way they will be competitive is to beat the others on price. It doesn't look like they're trying real hard.... Prices are average to high.

I kind of like that left side charging handle. Not unlike an L1A1 FAL equipped with a folding charging handle.

Their basic AR15 with the Blackhawk furniture is absolutely hideous. It looks like something UTG would barf out. Then the .308 AR with the side-mounted charging handle supposedly will be around $2K. And supposedly the barrels, at least on the basic AR15, will be made from 4140 steel instead of 4150. I will pass! Lots of pics in this TTAG post:
