Pretty good analysis. I never heard about the Miami Dade shooting until this. Sounds like a couple of brave men had a bad day.

    Don't take .38s to a mini14 fight.
"And how we burned in the camps later thinking, what would things have been like, if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain, whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family?"

That's what you got out of all of that. How about if you're legally blind without your glasses, wear a nerd strap to keep the things on your face? How about, keep your weapon in the holster so when your patrol car gets tied up with the suspects car and crashes your gun doesn't go flying off into oblivion leaving you unarmed? There were more than revolvers on the FBI's side. They had 9 mm handguns as well and the 12 ga. That shoot out is why FBI went to 10 mm, then the .40 S&W round and now ... well now they're headed back to 9mm again.

I've seen a movie about it I believe. Major screw ups all around. But that said, they put their lives on the line to stop a couple crazy fucks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04dUCT-qO3c

It was an awful, awful day. I lived closeby in Miami. That particular area was one I drove by frequently. Oddly enough, I don't remember any news reports on that day, only afterwards.
