Is a forward pistol grip legal in this thing? It not a pistol and is not a soft barreled shotgun, it's s forearm so I would think a forward grip would be ok not an aow

Can you put a mares leg or even a collapsible or folding arm brace on it too since they aren't designed to be fired from the shoulder?

Flipped in the air, and I caught it before it hit the gravel. Embarrassing to say the least. But, I made up for it.

We put about 40 various loads through it. I think that it would be a great home defense gun. Thank fully the strap is on there. I could see it being dangerous. Rapid fire and you could lose control of it. For me. I wouldn't shoot 3" shells in it. Maybe from the hip where you could brace it. My son didn't have a problem with it, but he is a bit larger than I. Fun toy for sure. My son was all grins shooting it. Pictures maybe next time.
Funny, Linda Hamilton made shooting 3" Magnum loads look SO EASY,
with one of these, in T2...

Don't be obtuse, it's the same style of shotgun.

    NO, it's not a Hur-de-dur, whoop-de-doo "SHOCKWAVE",

    it's a short pump with a small, handgrip end-stock.

They ALL look real cool, till you load them up with buckshot,

and start blazing away. Then it's all sprained wrists and bloody fingers.

So all pump shotguns are the same to you...... okeee dokeee!

And for the record, Sarah Connor's shotgun was a tactical Remington 870 Police Model with a pistol grip and top folding stock. It had a 20" barrel with extension tube and is definitely NOT an SBS.

We were replying to a poster who was talking about Linda Hamilton. She never touched the Winchester 1887 lever action shotgun in the film. The only shotgun linda carried (and repumped one handed!! BAD ASS!!!!), was the 870.

are you sure she never fired the 1887? I might have to go back and re-watch T2 again, you know, for research.

but yes, pistol grip shotguns +high base 00 buck = not fun.

it is funny when you are shooting clays (in an area where it is safe to do so) to sneak a 00 round into your buddys shotgun.

Apparently that wasn't the case with the two members posting in this thread that have actually fired the Shockwave.

Stopped in a LGS yesterday and they had the Remington TAC -14 in stock which is the Remington version of the Shockwave.

    http://www.rem870.com/2017/05/04/rem...bs-introduced/

They were out of the Shockwave but are expecting another shipment this week so I'm hoping I can compare the two models side by side. Other than the action differences and the different forearms the only significant difference is the capacity. The Mossberg holds one more round than the Remington. I also read that the Remington doesn't need the adapter piece to use the mini shot shells like the Mossberg.

I've not seen or handled the Mossberg but here is my take away on the Remington. Pistol grip is much more comfortable than the traditional, more vertical pistol grip. That being said when I held the gun extended at eye level, one hand on the grip and one on the forearm I found it necessary to lift up on the pistol grip to get the gun horizontal. The way the pistol grip is shaped I kept presenting it at an angle with the rear of the gun lower than the front.

I've been having a lot of shoulder issues recently, gonna need surgery soon so maybe it's more me than the grip but that's what I took away from it. The forearm is pretty large and doesn't have the strap like on the Shockwave. Not sure it needs one given the way it's shaped but I did think it was a little on the slippery side. Don't know if ones hand might slide forward off the forearm during aggressive cycling but if I were purchasing this one I believe I'd add some skateboard tape or something similar to the sides of the forearm.

Sticker price was $429 + 5.3% sales tax. Given the MSRP of $435.05 I'd want to see the store come off the price a few more dollars but demand being what it is they might not budge. When the Shockwave was first announced I was excited about it for a number of reasons. Besides the cool factor I viewed it as a new way to get essentially an SBS without all the BS. None of that has changed but I'm still wanting to check out the Mossberg before I make my decision.

One of the local stores had the Tac 14. They also had the Shockwave. So my son and I were able to compare them side by side. Over all we liked the shockwave better. Happy to have the strap on the front, and we felt that the Tac didn't hold as well. Just my two cents. I am a fan of Remington shotguns, and would have bought the Tac first. But now that I have seen them side by side. Happier with the shockwave.
