I believe from the 1920's to the 1950's, there were NO immigrants allowed into our country. This was done to allow all the previous immigrants time to assimilate. This was done by a Dimocrat President. If what was done then was good, why is it not good now?

Trump was trying to do similarly, plus, most of those who came in now were here illegally. There's a big difference between legal and illegal. If you're confused, check it out in a dictionary. ALL illegals should be rounded up and deported while those here, legally, should be allowed time to assimilate before we open our doors again.

That's what I've said over and over again. There is no such thing as an "illegal immigrant".

An "immigrant" is someone who came to the USA LEGALLY with the intent and desire to become an American citizen. Sure, it may take them time to assimilate (pick up the language, the culture, etc) but they DO, because they WANT TO.

America is made up primarily of immigrants. I am only second generation American. My grandparents came here (legally) from various parts of Europe.

I doubt there is any American who is against immigrants.

What we are against (and what Pres. Trump is trying to keep out) are ILLEGAL BORDER JUMPERS (from ANY country) who's goal is to take over our Country for their own purposes.

Pres. Trump has the LEGAL AUTHORITY (under USC) to do just that, and the liberal "judges" who block the President from protecting our Country should be at least disbarred and jailed if not tarred, feathered and strung up from a tree until their liberal bleeding heart corpse rots.

Remember Charles Degaule? I don't know how to spell his Name, but While my Dad was stationed in the 3rd Infantry Division in Wurzburg, we went to Paris on Leave in 1968. I recall reading then, in 1968, when I was 12. Degaule had to Step down. there was riots in the Street, my Mom was worried, but we only saw a little Trash in the Streets. It was August, 1968. He was their great WW2 Hero, and Leader, and in 1968 they were tired of him. We had a good time in Paris we were there 3 to 5 Days before going back to Wurzburg. The funniest thing I recall of the Trip, was trying to tell the Waiter We wanted Cold Milk! In France they drink Hot Milk!!! Yuk! My Dad was trying to shiver, and tell the Waiter he wanted Cold Milk for me and my Sister, and Brother. The guy had to go get the Hotel Manager who spoke English, and he told him for us. It's like this:

If immigrants come to a nation with a dominant culture and they come in small numbers (in a relative sense) the first generation will assimilate. Hell, they will be better Germans or Americans or Australians or whatever than the native-born. If, for some reason, you could and did permanently immigrate to Japan tomorrow, your ass would damn well be learning to speak Japanese, read it, write it and how to get along in their society. You can't, of course, because Japanese aren't stupid enough to allow such an immigration mess to happen, but I digress...

However, when the idea of a dominant culture is suppressed as being politically incorrect (ie "multi-culturalism" nonsense) and immigrants are allowed in numbers that allow them to establish enclaves of their own culture/language/etc then assimilation is slowed, if it happens at all.

Specific to muslims, the first generation may be excellent citizens, but the second or third generation may get decide to self-radicalize. It's a small % thing, but when you have a base of millions...you get the idea.

The first generation of any immigrant class is always going to be quite loyal to their own "traditional values" and culture. It was the same way with the Irish. It was the same way with the Italians. And yes, they got treated like shit when they first came to this country as well. But a few generations later? All their descendants? As American as apple pie.

I can understand wanting to place SOME limit on immigration, to at least allow more time for assimilation before entire communities are overwhelmed by first-gen'ers more loyal to their homeland than their new country, but whatever initial conflicts and tensions there might be tend to work themselves out over time.

If more conservatives actually opened up their hearts and embraced some of these people, they'd find they have an awful lot in common. Practicing Muslims tend to be pretty politically conservative in general, the only reason they vote Democratic in droves is because they are treated like cancer by the other side. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy in most cases.

I don't think the average Frenchman (especially those outside Paris) had much real say in this. The EU is omnipotent on the continent. Just like we saw in Austria and the Netherlands the globalists were going to carry the day regardless of what the polls said 2 weeks out from the election. A note on the Austrian election; I don't think it would take much of an investigation to prove that election was stolen not once but twice. Sadly, we'll probably never see this actually done. If Europe is going to be salvaged, actual Europeans are going to have to put out much, much more effort.
