Ship collisions raise specter of Chinese electronic warfare
China’s military has developed advanced electronic warfare capabilities capable of disabling ships, aircraft and missiles and there are signs the People’s Liberation Army is preparing to use exotic electronic attacks in a future conflict with the United States.

Two recent collisions between US Navy warships and commercial ships have raised the specter that China was behind the accidents, using electronic means to disrupt or fool radar or navigation systems into creating deliberate collisions, according to military experts.

The weird part about Cuba messing with our guys is 0bama gave them what they want after decades of embargo; recognition and trade with the US and they go and do the soviet thing to our embassy people. The soviets did much the same back in the day, including using microwaves that made staff bleed from their freaking eyes. It's an act of war.

After trawling through AIS data from recent years, evidence of spoofing becomes clear. Goward says GPS data has placed ships at three different airports and there have been other interesting anomalies. "We would find very large oil tankers who could travel at the maximum speed at 15 knots," says Goward, who was formerly director for Marine Transportation Systems at the US Coast Guard. "Their AIS, which is powered by GPS, would be saying they had sped up to 60 to 65 knots for an hour and then suddenly stopped. They had done that several times."

All of the evidence from the Black Sea points towards a co-ordinated attempt to disrupt GPS.
