Angry Crap! Just joined 'the club that no one wants to be a member of" :(

Been avoiding the list of the dead and wounded in Vegas because I know a lot of folks who live and work there and quite a few Californians who were traveling there this past week.

Finally checked the list and realized that I knew one of the dead, a very attractive young lady, and I just got news that a male friend is in the hospital.

It's gonna be weird knowing that I won't be talking to her ever again. Kinda reminds me of 9/11. I did know a few people who worked in the twin towers. It's weird that you can be talking on the phone, chatting about random stuff, and then maybe a week or two later, one day you realize that you'll never hear 'that person's voice again.

I have always said "as soon as you break eye contact with someone you may never see them again."

    Sad news.

Sorry to hear that. I found the other day that I knew one of the victims too, though not real well. We went to high school together and hung out in the same crowds but were never what you would call close friends, just acquaintances. I couldn't tell you any conversations we may have had or if she did any sports. I remember she was happy and cheerful. I remember everyone seemed to like being around her. Even though I may have never seen or heard from her again, it doesn't seem fair that she is not around anymore.

    I am sorry as well.

One of my Sailors knew a bunch of people at the concert, 6 of whom were shot or otherwise injured, 3 have died. Two died immediately and one died later at the hospital. It bugs me when I hear people talk about how this didn't happen.

BTW, Thanks guys. It's been a very WEIRD month or so.

    now....
Just waiting to see if anyone is missing from the Norcal Fires. I did take my empty van and drive into the fire zone, near Napa California, (ahead of the fire) to help a friend pack up and evacuate. That was a bit unnerving though.
