AR10's like the original and and Ar15's from the original slab side to tear drop A1's and the shorty carbines. I'm gonna have to pounce on an A1 and carbine, thinking about the AR10 instead of one of them. https://www.brownells.com/aspx/gener...aspx?bapid=606

Still waiting my friend for a better deal on reproductions of these weapons. I just bought the E1 BTW, first gun I've bought in years. https://www.brownells.com/aspx/searc...163&pid=113313

Don't know, don't care. There's a reason why the M16 / AR15 does not look like the originals. It is because the original ones with original features weren't that good or reliable.
Unless your a Vietnam veteran or war reenactor, what would you want one for? Not the functionality of it.

Cool score 1-Pat. I really like the retro M16 clones and these rifles from Brownells seem to be of high quality.

Yeah of course one can build from parts but finding all the correct components is a PITA.

I don't know I think the a1 model would be just fine, they are light and simple and don't have a bunch of crap hanging off of them, sometimes the simplicity is nice. I have an a2 that I love and the only thing I'd change is putting a govt. Profile barrel on it it has hbar

I saw this on another forum, that was discussing AR-10's and linked the Brownell's Retro AR-10's ... And in a moment of weakness I ordered the BRN-10A, which is a clone of the 1955-1960, AR-10 with the brown furniture. According to the video, they are made with all the modern finishes, the carriers/bolts are chrome plated and both are MPI tested as is the barrel which is phosphate coated.

It's only available for pre-order but I threw my credit card in the ring ... Not sure if I'll ever be able shoot it, but it does have a 5/8x24 thread so I can put on my suppressor on it to help mitigate the recoil ... I've had opportunities to buy the original and the Armalite clones, but never had the money at the time ... so I decided not to let this pass me by.

Edit to add ... I was disappointed that they don't show the left side of the receiver and am curious as to what it says ... If it's licensed by Armalite, if it says Brownell's or if it has the actual makers mark & logo is a Rugeresk style

You know I was thinking of buying that too. The footage of Stoner walking out of the water with the original AR10 is awesome. Depending on quality I might end up buying the whole series. Please post pics of it when you get it. It looks just like the original, cocking handle in the handle and all. I should be picking my E1 up tomorrow. Will be of course spending a lot of time looking at it and taking photos. I did a write up on the AR10 and the Colt Armalite AR15 before the site got lost. The whole design was before it's time and lasted until now. I ended up buying my first MG an AR18 which was an attempt to compete with the Colt Armalite AR15/M16 in trials. Did you watch the video? Maybe you can grab some frames from the left side and enlarge them.

Interesting, Seems the french and the Italians used the same type mag locking systems. How much more to find or build a receiver ect to finish it?

I looked at and read everything on the site ... just wondering how long it will take.

I grabbed this one where he was talking about the bolt release and it looks like a couple lines of manufacturer info near the top

rebuild the receiver so that the f/a features are restricted.

Okay first pics and observations only thing I noticed so far that might be lacking is the triangle foregrip has a little movement in it in twisting. Is that normal in those type firearms? Newest addition to the arsenal, Retro "M16" 1964-1967 E1 without the fun switch, cause us peons suck and are not to be trusted without special permission..
Brownells new series of retro AR15's and AR10's.
Era original duckbill flash suppressor Tear drop forward assist.
    Triangle foregrips.
I got one of the first 70. So I'm a guinea pig
Bayonet lug and original front adjustable height site, vs the rear sight adjustable for height proper for the era
NDS reciever, they make some great AK and RPK recievers I've built on before, have to see if the AR's are as good.
Chrome carrier and bolt like the era.
