Gunsnet Banned at University of MD Medical Center

I just got back home from cancer surgery at the subject hospital. I wanted to pass on (as FYI) to all that this web site is filtered/banned on their guest Wi-Fi as a "gun sales" site. In actuality I think they are just scanning for the word "gun" in the URL. For example I was able to access the "highroad" gun site without being blocked. Apparently they fear a patient buying and selling guns from within the confines of the hospital. I thought about testing their porn filtering, but thought better of doing so.

It's blocked in the county school system I work in, too. (Probably, all the other school systems, too.)

No big deal. If I need to see what's going on while I work, I just turn my hot spot on and go in from there.

The way I see it, it's their wi-fi system, so they have the right to block what they want.

I have VPN unlimited installed on my I-phone which I had at the hospital -- but didn't think to try to use it. Too drugged up at the time. I don't use a phone VPN all of the time due to occasional connection issues with the VPN unlimited product which is 100% reliable on an I-mac.

I would think it is possible the hospital blocks tunneling protocols at their firewall but I should have tested this.

Thanks for asking. It went very well. I had my thyroid gland remove due to cancer. I had the first half removed 3 months ago. The surgery that time did not go well and a vocal chord nerve was damaged and the surgery aborted. I had a dedicated recovery room nurse hovering over me for about 7 hours after the surgery to make sure I didn't stop breathing. I think the concern was that I was not coming out of the anesthesia very well. Yesterday I had the remaining 1/2 of the thyroid removed. It was a totally 180 degree different experience. A 3 hour operation took 90 minutes. Within 2 hours of the operation I could walk and not much after that I was eating dinner. They let me walk out of the hospital today instead of being wheeled out in a wheelchair. I feel better today than I have after some dental procedures. Now to get to the punch line of this story. Three months ago I totally changed my diet. I bought a Nutribullet. Two meals a day are now fruit, vegetables, and some protein like flax seeds, almonds, or similar. Dinner is now meat, and vegetables. Alcohol has been eliminated. The total health rejuvenation on this diet has been for me totally amazing.

Well that's good I was wondering myself
As far as being blocked it kind of takes me back to the old days of "Goonsnet"

Glad you had a great recovery and everything went well.

I have a Nutribullet, too, and it's great for making all kinds of great tasting, nutritious drinks. I love mine.

Gunsnet.net is blocked at Disney World too, but not Assaultweb.net. So guess where I went when I had some down time....
