2300.00 to install my wood stove.

This is the quote from Ashbusters. The parts are around 1k, and then 1300 in labor. Yikes.

There can be a lot of work involved installing a wood stove that is code compliant. The labor for my stove was at least twice your quote but I had two guys on a 40-50 foot chimney pouring insulated concrete for two days which probably accounted for a lot of the cost.

I can understand this. Never did one but I have watched installation videos. All the insulation required to prevent an accidental fire etc.

2300 sounds like a lot but what are the benefits? What do you feed it, wood and pellets or just wood?

Wood. I have 12 acres of trees, although I will probably buy most of the wood I burn.

Do you have a steady source? I buy from a guy that is within a mile. But our winters can be cold (this year) or not cold at all.
I am not sure of your location so things will be different. But I nice warm fire is good.
