If it is anything like the military, if he is found to have violated FBI policies or actual laws he could lose or have his pension docked. It depends on when and how long he was violating the laws and rules, and how bad the violations were. Not sure that government employees are the same, but I know that military members who get in trouble like this can have their retirements lowered or removed, usually lowered.
