Thumbs up Range report on the Remington 760 30-06 (pump gun)

Well, cutting to the chase, I was able to get this old girl humming. She doesn't much care for Remington 150 core-locts, but she does like my Sierra 180 grain spire point handloads!

Here's the 100 yard target for 55 grains of W760 (about 2700-2750 fps):

I adjusted the group over to the right to center and she's now ready to go hunting!

Just thought i might mention my 7600 would shoot a 5 shot group at 100 yards the size of a quarter.

That was using Federal factory ammo loaded with 165 grain boat tails.

Love them old guns, good to see you found what she likes to shoot. Do you have any idea of the birthday on the old girl?

That makes it even sweeter. kissed my first girl in 53, got slapped for it. 3rd grade girls don't like getting kissed unless they do it first. One of my uncles had one but I can't remember if it was the Uncle I liked and was named after or the martini drinking one everybody called asshole. Probably the drunk one because he made a lot of money for those times.

Thanks. I'm happy she's shooting good but she is a picky bitch.

A guy on another board suggested I use IMR4895...IIRC with 150 grain Hornadys. Yep - I just checked it - 52.5 grains for 2900 fps. Sez that this load shoots well in all of his pumps.

So I may give that a whirl.
