    Skeet shooters?

Went out shooting for the first time here in Cali today.
Was invited by the owner of the local gunstore.
Shot skeet for the first time in at least 15 years.
    What a blast!

Now, over and under, or semi?
    Whats a good starter gun?

I feel a serious addiction coming on..

I prefer a pump action because I hunt with that.

My cousin swears by his o/u with double triggers. It takes some getting used to.

seems most "pros" like the o/u's

i personally will use a pump or auto.

really depends on your preferances. use what your comfortable with.

I stepped in today with a remington 870 tactical with a short barrel, everyone laughed, but I did rather well. I outshot a few guys who had some nice s/a shotguns.
Afterwards we were all just shooting for fun with the extra clays, and I got to shoot a Beretta O/U that was somewhere in the $2000 range, and that thing was so light and sweet...
It hit everything I pointed it at.

I would love to find a cheap over and under, or a nice semi...

yeah, the "tactical" shotguns usually get laughed at and looked down on, but most actually end up working fairly well as they usually have wider choke patterns (cyl bore) since theyre designed to shoot slugs.

I shoot trap with my 870 Express with a modified tube installed. I do pretty well with it. I was talking to a guy with a real nice Barretta one day at the range. He said that, like for most things, unless you plan on going pro a good quality shot gun that you are comfortable with is the best to use. Most of us won't get notice much difference between a $400 gun and a $2000 gun.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

Skeet is fun. But Sporting Clays is addictive. Kind of like comparing bullseye shooting to action shooting.

Since you are limited to one or two shots, the OU is the choice for skeet by all competitors but for fun and practice, use whatever you intend to hunt with.

I think it may already be too late, it's my favorite.

When you say skeet is it actual skeet with the two towers or are we talking trap. If skeet they have guns made for that in particular
Sporting clays is a great time
