Any of you other old farts...

...remember the movies of The Bowery Boys? Some of their films were The East Side Kids, or The Dead End Kids...

Fun stuff to watch on the UHF channels when there were only three networks (I don't count PBS).

Anywho...if you have access to TMC, go watch "Loose In London", currently available in the "on demand" menu. The Boys have a rollicking good time in jolly old, much hilarity ensues, and I swear, Leo Gorcey's character influenced Carroll O'Conner's portrayal of Archie Bunker.

I loved watching that show growing up. I still catch it every once in a whle when it appears on TMC or some other channel that shows the "old" shows.

Wow! I used to catch those shows on Public TV out of Sedalia, Missouri. I was just a kid. I've thought about those over the years and could not remember the name or names.

You made my day posting this!

Ha! Then I've done my job well.

Sometimes memories of childhood stuff are full of gold...and you are welcome sir!

That's interesting. I lived in Linneus, MO for a few years in my child hood. Wonderful little town to grow up next to the reservoir except for the bulllies I'd like to rain hell down on even today. I just remember cartoons and maybe soul train or something like it on TV at the time. Train tracks were two doors down and an MFA grain facility wasn't far. My dad worked there for a while and was a town employee for a while. Got to see the Water tower and how the water system worked. Knew a couple of brothers out of town who lived on a farm, spent a lot of time out there riding bareback and chasing hogs with the horses! The father had a business called Smith Cattle guards, they produced concrete cattle guards instead of gates for cattle on the fields. My dad worked there too.

IIRC, Leo Gorcy and Huntz Hall were the two main "characters" but I never liked them or their antics. I preferred the Three Stooges, esp. the original Curly.
