    AR-15 prices, where's the cheapest?

So I went looking around for an AR-15. Local trade 'em in places had them for $1k+. Cabela's for $799. I know I've seen them around $649.. at any rate, where can I get the best deal on an AR-15. Doesnt have to be free floating barrel or anything fancy. Optics ready is preferred.

That is a good deal, as it comes with chrome barrel and bolt carrier.

I don't like not having a regular front sight though.

plenty money left for a flipper.
wonder if it shoots 556, or just 223?

    Your link says .223/5.56NATO.

Being that its marketed for "military and police" I would have imagined it to be 5.56 anyway.

You could try it in stages. New Frontier Armory has the Plum Crazy C15 complete lowers for $130. Many complete uppers out there for $400 and up get as fancy as the check book allows. I just got a DEZ Arms custom Tac driver for $338 then added a Bravo Company bolt carrier group and charging handle and still came in under $600 total.

Also try galleryofguns.com's Gun Genie finder. Fill in the blanks, enter zip code and how far willing to go and see best deals close to you. Google shop too I guess.
"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time; the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them. ... Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever."--Thomas Jefferson
