    Chinese Makarov?

    Hi guys,

So today was my first time going to Cabellas ever (this would be the one that opened fairly recently in Lacey, WA.) and have to say that it is an amazing store even if you are just in there to look around!

What I did not know was that they have a used gun section as well and ended up walking out with this Norinco made makarov. I've seen east german, russian and bulgarian makarovs but never a chinese one. What is the scoop on these pistols? It was $149.99 with one magazine and looks like it is in great condition, I'll post a few pictures below. Any help would be appriciated!

    Thanks again!

Good buy! Haven't seen one go for less than $350.00 in a long time. I have a NIB Chi-Com with the blue lined holster that I'd never part with. Congrats.

I would have snapped that up, even though I already have a Bulgie.

At shows around here the 9x18's are $250-300, the 380's about $25-50 more.

Great deal. The Chinese Makarovs are not very common and are getting pretty spendy.

When the Maks first came out, I bought a pair of East Germans, one for my daughter and one to toss in the truck. They were under $100 each. I bought two because the dealer said he'll drop the price to $95 each if I bought two. I figured every good kid needs a pistol, so the other was given to my daughter. The truck pistol gets wiped down and oiled every week. I have a Russian Mak in the safe, and a Bulgy between my waterbed mattress and the side. I think there's another Mak floating around the house somewhere. I don't think I paid more than $125 for the most expensive Makarov that I own. Understandably, this was years ago. I wish I had ran across that Chinese Mak. I think they're a pretty good little pistol. I like my 1911 better, but it's easier to carry the Mak than the 1911.

Thanks guys! It really makes my P-64 look like crap in comparison!

Zoff, do you have a picture of the holster it was suppose to come with? Probably waaay hard to find but if I ever ran across one I would know what to look for.

This is not a great pic but it's there. Not really sure if the two originally came together or not but it is the correct holster for the piece.

They are lined in blue corduroy and the leather is pretty thick.

I loaned a buddy of mine my spare for a re-enactment display. He said he was going to buy it from me but I never got paid. If he is not going to buy it, I will make it available to you at a fair price if you are interested.

This is off of a GB auction but the picture is a good view of the internals of one of the correct holsters incase anybody else was wondering. I have a russian one but the leather is pretty rough and probably would cause quite a bit of excess wear in comparison to one of these lined ones.

That does look like a much nice Makraov holster than my Russian one.

    Wow! Great buy!

A quick perusal of gunbroker shows an East German Makarov pistol for $280 reserve met, up to $1500 for an unfired Simson Suhl Mak...

    You did well!
