Have you had the chance to look into having the advanced reply option first vs the quick reply one?
I use the advanced reply 99% of the time. Switching to advanced from quick is a PITA.

the "reply" button does quick reply like its supposed to.. and now "reply to thread" does the advanced.. enjoy.
