straight as a arrow! but there is a lot of duracoat on the rails that needs to wear off so the bolt dont always come forward all the way it gets stopped 1/2-3/4 the way back but a little push and she closes .

    Nice 1st build!!!

It wasn't as hard as you imagined, was it?
After the paint wears on the rails and if the carrier still won't go to battery,
polish the hammer in the area where the carrier rides. I found this helps the cycling.
There's no problem an AK can't solve...........

    Cool thanks!

    Yes and no,
it was actually kinda difficult . Back in another lifetime I was a motorcycle mechanic and I did some custom work after that I was a fabricator @ HUB fabricating. My problem was that I am super anal about everything I do, but with aks that's not the way to go. For example I would never have used a 24oz hammer on these stubborn parts a its just not in my train of thought to beat on it like a madman but some times that's what you need to do ..

I actually txt'ed deth last night and he said the same thing to polish all that stuff up .

If you're using a G2 FCG, the hammer hump is less than a imported one.
I knock off that hump some and then polish it glass smooth.
The carrier rides over it like it's not there. Really smooth cycling.

The carrier going forward hangs on that hump and can stop the carrier or slow it down considerably, especially if charging the first round by hand..

OK guys let us get this ball rolling again.
Which one of these stock sets looks better.
This one is the original Bulgy stock set refinished to a reddish brown.

Or this one with the K-Var plum stock set.

I know this gun is getting a little beat up, it is my best shooter and goes to the range with me every time I go. It has over 4K rounds through it now almost all corrosive mil-surp ammo. I do a heavy cleaning on it every time I shoot it to keep the corrosive ammo from doing any damage.
Let me know which one you like best.

I like both, however I would suggest adding a real com-bloc scope rail and getting a Kobra or PSOP cause an AK just don't look right with a Tasco.

I prefer the original Bulgy stock set.
I've had plum furniture and don't really care for it.

I had gathered the parts to build a 63 clone from a Romy kit. I like that look. Now I'm not sure that it'll get built. It took me too long to get started and came up with other plans for the last 3 or 4 kits that I have left... At least I have the parts if I change my mind again LOL...
