    stock cleaning suggestions?

I just picked up a No. 4 Mk2 as part of a trade, and was wondering what the best way to clean the wood might be...no cosmoline or anything like that, just lots of smudges on a dirty looking light-colored stock.

In the past I've been a little careless when cleaning up the occasional SKS or Mosin stock and I just wanted to proceed a little more carefully with the Enfleld. Pics to follow.

    Suggestions appreciated.

I use lemon oil on a rag, it works reasonably well and doesn't cause any harm.

Glad you are being more carefull. Lemon oil is good for wood. That is why pledge has been around for years LOL! Hope to see some pics when your done cleaning.

A bottle of Old English will work just fine.

I also have a Walnut M14 stock that needs oil but is already pretty clean looking, would you guys recommend lemon oil for that as well?
