No way I'd touch an AR built by those monkeys. They can barely get AK's right. Can you imagine how bad they would F up an AR?

I'd just buy a kit and build my own.

For that price do it. There is nothing for Century to fuck up. The just stick an original colt upper on a DPMS built lower, call it their product.

It has an A2 lower, but most wont notice.

Oh my friend. It's like saying Blackthorne has nothing to F up, yet somehow they manage. No doubt it will be fixable, but I worry about the monkey's putting it together.

CAI hired a bunch of chimpanzees to do their refurbish work years ago. Apparently these chimps were selected for their below average intelligence among other chimps. I would stay away.

Century did a hell of a job on my M70AB2....thing runs like a raped ape.

    It is an AK though......

No way I would trust them with a tight tolerance weapon.

Vey cool, I like retro ARs for some reason, but selling it with a 1:12 twist in this day and age seems kinda dumb, especially for $1300. I realize it's the authentic twist rate but selling it with a lightweight profile 1:7 twist barrel would still *look* authentic and would be more versatile with varying bullet weights.

But it wouldn't create the horrific yaw effects that particular arangement was famous for.

The CAI guns are quality parts put together by questionable workers, if you can (or have no problem) going over and rebuilding if need be they are a good deal. Buying a CAI rifle and a DCI old school lower would probably get you close to what Fulton is selling for $1300 for under 900 (less once you sell the old CAI lower).

    Lightbulb

Century's gun monkies have problems with assembling straight front sight towers. However, the M16 / AR15, (if they are buying the barrels from other sources) should be a no skill installation. A barrel with the front sight installed simply slips into the upper receiver and is located by a dowl pin into a notch in the upper. Then one simply tightnes down the barrel nut to the proper alignment and torque level. In fact I'd say that the AR in general is a push into place, screw it down build. Anybody that can screw in a light bulb could build their own AR15 if they had the proper receiver blocks to hold the upper for barrel installation and nut torque down.

Well I can say that Century does have its problems, it's the consistancy of their builds that bothers me.
I hand picked 3 wasr10s now you know that buying a Century product is like picking out lumber at a
yard, you have to dig through the crap to find the good wood. I found 3 out of 20 that were straight,
and that was from three batches. I would never buy one of their builds sight unseen.
    Just me and my monkey....

I hope theyre using better parts than the first batch they came up with.

My dealer got 12 rifles and all 12 went back because parts had pitting so bad on them the rifles looked like they were at the bottom of the ocean.

They had original barrels with some pits up to .062 deep.

Newer ones supposedly have new barrels (1 in 9 twist too).

I thought these all had to have new US barrels because they are "imported"

I'm sorry but... AR's are A LOT easier to build then an AK... Old colt uppers and parts, DPMS lower. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I was in the market and didn't wanna roll my own...

And really, why NOT roll your own?
