No!!!!!!! Don't destroy the mraps! Pisses me off the gov won't let us buy tanks or APCs or IFVs...... a nice MLRS would be nice too. All the 939 series trucks are flying out the doors. They're going cheap. There's got to be a few years coming supply on GL. I wouldn't mind an LMTV. If only I was rich.

It will be interisting to see what shows up on the civilian market. Between that and the governments budget cuts I wonder if it will the US version of the end of comunisim sale Russia had in the 90's.
Doobie Doobie Doo..
Yeah it makes me wonder what will show up. The government I think would rather spend money to destroy most of this stuff so we don't end up with it, than sell it to us and make some money when they are in need of it. But hey what do I know? Perhaps they will give it to some people they like for who knows what reason that hate us and, claim that they destroyed it instead hoping the public never gets the wiser.

That's pretty apt....When I heard about this I was thinking that movie "Lord of War" , the scene where Nicholas Cage's uncle is negotiating with him in the bunker with the AK's...... LOL Too bad we can't buy armor or weapons. But there's lot's of good buys on cargo trucks, hopefully a lot of LMTV's.
Relatively few HMMWV's got through, but some did and are available on the civilian market. When I picked up my M923 at Camp Ripley, there were dozens of HMMWV's from Iraq and Afghanistan that were tagged going to the shredder, A friggin crime IMO. There's no logical reason to destroy those vehicles when we can recoop a slight fraction of our taxpayer money and reuse them.
Okay this is just too funny..... Enhanced capability HMMWV http://tech.military.com/equipment/v...ity-hmmwv.html Couldn't be captioned better here at Gunsnet!

You should see what is in the Red River Army Depot... I pick up a small auction there and saw 100s of acres of vehicles...
We found out what "dealing" with progressive lefties is all about. Our side gives up something, they give up nothing and the progressives come back in a month or a year and want us to give up more... rinse and repeat...
