PPS-43? Has anyone bought one of these?

There are some really good prices out there and I'm tempted. I have a CZ52 and this would be a good match especially if the stamp is collected...

What are some of the sources youve seen? Id like to know as well.

I have been looking for a pistol caliber sub gun for a long time now trying to find one at the right price and caliber.

Centerfire is running a special for $269.95! With one mag.

I was looking for a mag special I thought I saw that was 4 in a pouch, but I can't find it again. The best price I've found is about $15 per mag.

I was wondering how good the builds are; from what I gather these are imported as pistols from poland with the stock tack welded in the folded position. I also have seen flats that are not in spec and I whated to know what they are selling.

There are kits out there for as little as $79 so there is a full set of spare parts.

Is yours the one that Centerfire is selling? I take it that its performing well since your SBRing it.

I think Royal Tiger (IO) is importing them and not Century. I'm not sure there is more than one importer.

i got mine from my dealer locally a few months back

Yea. I'd say damn near AK reliability.

Dont drop those PPS mags though. The lips are fragile.

It's about as accurate as my sten , so basically a fancy bullet hose.

Is the barrel removable? Is there any chance of working up a 9mm conversion?

Theres a heavy roll pin through the barrel/trunnion.

I have a 9mm barrel I acquired for it , IIRC it might involve replacing the entire trunnion. I'll have to take a closer looksee.

    I'll have to look tomorrow.

Have one of them laying around here somewhere.

IIRC they are a little shorter.

I like my PPS-43, a real head turner at the range! Good Polish quality, and came with 4 mags, cleaning kit, etc...
Blackjack buffers makes a nice buffer for it which lasts 10,000 rounds and improves cycling, vs the original leather buffer. Just watch out for some of the surplus, not every round goes bang. S&B works the best, but it's expensive.

How hard is it to SBR? Do I need a kit or just demil & refinish?

If you could dual caliber with just a trunion & barrel and removing a pin that would be great.

For the SBR job you gotta totally remove the old stock assembly and install an operational one from a kit.

I've seen some 16" carbine barrels... Humm, a kit, extend the shroud, head space & install the new barrel/trunion and a converted carbine with folder. That is more what I'm wanting anyway. I've seen a recent ATF letter that says a carbine kit is legal on any pistol.

Wonder if parts count comes into play... I'd guess yes, but if done as a removable kit?

I saw my first one of those the other day. Looked like it could be fun. Though I think I would have liked one with a 16" barrel and a stock. Do they make those or just these pistol ones? Not that I really need another pistol caliber carbine but, they are so much fun.
    Doobie Doobie Doo..
