I'm going to try one of the H. Hupmann #2's with a pour of EW-SB-2004.
I 've read some pretty remarkable reviews for these, some even preferring them over Montecristo #2's.
So we'll see here a bit later.
Nice read. My favorite cigar at the time was the Lonsdale when they made it!

H. Upmann? I've never had one, I try to stay in the 48 to 52 ring gauge range, so lonsdales are not what I tend to look at. I know they're really popular tho, our guy Stan likes them quite a lot.
I've been working on this #2 for about half an hour now, its pretty damn good. I also like the Mag-50's from H. Upmann. I think this line is somewhat under appreciated. Oh well, it keeps the price in check.
There Corona's are a good cigar also. Always prefer the 42 or 44 size cigar.

Okay you people. I'm about 2/3 of the way through the H. Upmann #2. I paired this with a couple pours of the Evan Williams Single Barrel circa 2004, barrel #3.
Damn this is a good looking smoke!
Gotta say; I'm pleasantly pleased with this pairing. Its as good a pairing a RASS with a pour of Rittenhouse BIB.
The EVSB is thick and oily, has a nice balance of sweet and spice and hits about every note bourbon drinkers cherish. At $25 a 750ml bottle, its a bargain buy.
Back to the stogie. These are often compared to the Monte #2's. But thus far, I see them as unique from one another. The Monte is all coffee and chocolate, but the H. Upmann has more floral and spice notes, especially cinnamon. Its a great smoke, perfect draw, no burn issues, construction seems first rate, and it tastes great.
All in all a great pairing, I would highly recommend both.
Can't go wrong with the H.Upmann cigars

Checking in from the hotel in Slidell, outside of New Orleans.
Day 2 of the herf. Had roasted oysters and blackened Snapper last night.
One of the forum advertisers sent a nice selection of smaller sized Habanos
for us all to try. Had a bottle of 100% Rye Whistle Pig to sip on.
Today is three huge crawfish boil's with onion, garlic, jalapeños, potato,
corn and whatever else is thrown in. Expecting 30. Cigars everywhere, of course.
Been smoking a couple of Monte Cristo Edmundos this weekend. With this stick, it's almost like having your coffee and smoke, @ the same time.
Nice day so today it is a H.Upmann 1844 reserve Demi tasse:33 x 4 1/2" with a cold Beck beer! Perfect!

I don't know how I missed this thread. All I can say is its full of win.
Face your fear, accept your war.
Got a Ruination Lil Devil and something called "Barrell Bourbon".
It's batch #001, bottle #3255, barrel strength at 60.8 ABV. Got it at Caskers.
Really kinda different, taste wise. Wish I could tell you how.
