'Twas the night before Christmas, and all news was dire,
The Second Amendment was taking some fire.
The Patriots were typing as much as they dare,
In hopes that America would wake up and care.

Feinstein was dreaming, asleep in her bed,
As armed men around her guarded instead.
Obama and Clinton were setting their sights,
Relentlessly working on taking our Rights.

When out on the news there arose such a scatter,
Of misinformation regarding the matter.
Away went the logic of reason and fact,
And on with the rhetoric, meant to distract.

Selective reporting and laying it thick,
And skewing statistics to make it all stick.
More knee-jerk reactions, proposing new laws.
They promote propaganda to further their cause.

"More gun laws, more limits,
And ban those AR's!
Less guns means less crime!"
(Like that's worked, so far...)
"Less shotguns, less ammo,
And more gun-free zones!
Guns kill people!"
The media intones.

Then there's Piers Morgan to enter the fray
Quick to point out, the gunless UK
With straw man positions and ad hominem attacks
He spouts his opinions and skews all the facts

Murder in Britain, is down, so it's true,
But violent crime has risen in lieu.
Robbery, assaults, and thefts up each year,
And home invasions from thugs with no fear.

Here in the U.S., the tragedies mount
With each new occurrence, and each new account,
"No guns allowed" signs are pointing the way
For every mad gunman to choose helpless 'prey.'

"But guns are to blame, not the mentally sick!"
"Just ban 'assault weapons!' THAT will do the trick!
'Cause who needs a rifle that's scary to see?
Military-style guns are not for you and me!"
With a tactical rail, and a pistol-type grip
And telescoping stock, with a "hundred-round clip."
"You don't need that for hunting," we oft hear them say,
"Just give them all up, and we'll be on our way!"

But the Founders were wise, when the wrote the First Ten
The Second Amendment was to prevent tyranny again
On this principle, a Free State is hinged
"The Right to Bear Arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!"

For each American Citizen, and Soldiers untold
Our Constitution, we're sworn to uphold.
But many are saying it's time for a "change"
They say we're outdated, and tell us we're strange.

But here in this Country, a glimmer of Hope!
An army of Patriots, are holding the rope.
They take up the call, grizzled and scarred,
"MOLON LABE!....and to all, stand your guard!"
